The MMO

    Yes, as you know multiplayer games have truly evolved. ( Online multiplayer games can be called mmo or massive multiplayer online game). From just on consoles to the computer. Now, they are all over the internet, which is where i will be talking about.  As you know, there are a plethora of multiplayer games. I will try my best to show them all. You must also know that the number of players that play them are also very different and the number of games under just one genre. 

The Strategy MMOs

    Ok, so what i mean by strategy is that you build buildings and try to train an army to defeat other players. Now the sheer number of these games is astounding so I will show 3 examples.

1. Evony

    This is probably one of the biggest of these types of mmos. As you can see the point is too build an empire and take over the world. (Impossible to do since of the map size). More like become the strongest ever. Since you are in the medieval (I'm guessing around there) era you have archers and swordsman and the such to train and attack other players. But your not alone, there are alliances that help each other and fight in groups. Now there are the usual mmo way of communicating. Mail messages, or use the chat box (can chat in alliance only, private, or world. That is the normal chat in games). Now Evony started at age 1, which then   

became old when age 2 was created. Now you can see Evony yourself by going to Evony.com.

2. Lord of Ultima 

A city in LOU

    Lord of Ultima is a game that by just glancing, is exactly like Evony. But, LOU (Lord of Ultima) has all of the city in one map. (Evony had resources on another map, separate from the city). As you can see the city is divided into 5 sections. Every section has randomly generated resources that you can collect. There is a different style in building, and trading, as well as the map. (Of course there will be). Other than that I don't see a very big difference (art doesn't count). between the games. You can try the game out yourself by going to Lordofultima.com.

3. 8Realms

This game is more unique (I think) then the other two. To start just looking at it, you can see the differences in graphics. But that is not the only thing. The HUGE difference is the ages. Like history your empire progresses in ages. As you go from the weakest age to the highest you get stronger. (Now please clarify something I don't get). What happens when someone creates the last wonder? Anyway, the ally system is also a HUGE difference in the game. Instead og joining groups of alliances, you can join friends and help them. Other than that I see no other worldly difference between all three games. Now don't get me wrong, they all have certain things that distinguish one from the other, and I might not have put them all down. However, DON'T fret I can't put it all down! Communication Games

    Now I do not know where to actually put these games under. They are primarily a virtual reality game, just to hang out at. I really don't know what they are classified under, but here it goes.

1. Habbo

Whatever you want, for a price.

    Now you can see what I mean by 'communication' games. If you played Habbo. Really it is a place to create a character and talk and have fun. It also was made to appeal to teenagers. It is a pixel, cartoonish game that has the ability to do what you want. ( There are limits). However be warned, the only way to get 90% of the things in that picture above, you need REAL cash. Yes, sadly there is real hard-earned money involved to really create the game. ( Almost like club-penguin). Luckily, there are many spoofs of the game that gives you unlimited cash in the game to make whatever you want! Really, to me this game seems only a way to lose money. But what do I know? 2. ANY DANG MULTIPLAYER GAME!!!!

    WHAT DID YOU THINK?!!?? Of course any game with multiplayer(online) would have the ability to chat. In fact I have seen normal conversations that would be said on the phone in many of these games. It doesn't matter if you type it or say it, really it could be any of these type of games where you can hang out and converse. To look for this game(s) go to google.com or bing.com.

BUILDING MMOS/Games

    I really can't say ALL of them would be considered mmos, but they are multiplayer and alot of people play them so I CAN!

1. Minecraft (multiplayer)

This is a server, OR multiplayer!!!

    I really don't need to describe this hit game. But when I say multiplayer, it is on a server. There are in fact hundreds (not counting) of servers that are big. There are probably an innumerable amount of little servers that are just between friends. Go play in free mode at minecraft.net, or the version you bought (or hacked).

2. LOOK AT MY OTHER POST!!
